The three interconnected resorts of Hirafu, Higashiyama and Annupuri constitute the central part of Niseko, and travel is free between these areas with a Niseko All Mountain Pass. The whole area has 38 lifts and 61 pistes. There is also off-piste and backcountry skiing, and good night skiing too.
Because of the abundant snowfall there are not many clear days in Niseko, but if you’re lucky to be there on just one of those days you can see an amazing winter wonderland, with a wonderful view of Mt Yotei which is often called Ezo Fuji because of its similarity to the famous Mount Fuji.
In Niseko the action doesn’t stop at the end of the piste. There is a huge variety of winter activities, from snowshoeing, ice climbing, to snowmobiling. But if by any chance you want a quiet moment, take a dip in the hot springs (onsen) for perfect relaxation.
The food is another attraction of this part of the world – particularly the seafood which on Hokkaido is fresh and delicious.
